Cates Landing The Cates Landing public port has loading and unloading capabilities for various raw and finished products onto and off barges. The port is accessible to barge traffic year round with slack water access to the barge berthing area.The harbor channel provides space for passage of barge traffic at the port terminal without interference with barges that are moored at the berthing area. In addition, a 300 foot turn-a-round for tugboats is provided at the southern end of the harbor. |

West Tennessee Megasite The Haywood County site, known as the I-40 Advantage Auto Park, is located north of Interstate 40, 20 minutes east of the Memphis, Tennessee, suburbs. The site is easily accessible from Memphis, Bartlett, Collierville, Germantown, Jackson and other West Tennessee cities. The site is bounded on the north by U. S. Highway 70/79 and CSX Railroad and on the south by Interstate 40.Based on its expertise as a site selection consultant for the automotive industry, MSC was commissioned by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as an independent source to evaluate community submitted sites in TVA’s service area. MSC established stringent certification criteria and a detailed process to evaluate potential properties. The I-40 Advantage Auto Park site meets the MSC criteria required for certification, including land availability that has sufficient contiguous and developable acres, infrastructure, utilities, and labor capacity. |

Hatchie Wildlife Refuge Hatchie NWR includes 11,556 acres along the Scenic Hatchie River and is located about four miles south of Brownsville, Tennessee. The refuge was established in 1964, primarily to provide habitat (food, water and shelter) for migrating and wintering waterfowl.Hatchie NWR office is located at Oneal Lake on Hwy 76 immediately south of I-40's Exit 52. From Memphis, TN take I-40 east about one hour to Exit 52. Exit left or north onto Hwy 76, than go 1.5 miles to the Refuge Office on the right. From Nashville, TN take I-40 west to Exit 56. Exit left or south onto Hwy 76, go 3 miles to the Refuge Office on the left. |

It provides quick, convenient access to Covington and the southeast region of Tennessee for business and individuals. The airport is open year round with staff on duty 7am to 5pm Monday through Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Taxi and courtesy cars are available. |

Alex Haley Museum Originally known as the Palmer House, this ten-room, bungalow style home was constructed in 1918 and 1919 by Will E. Palmer, the maternal grandfather of Alex Haley (1921-1992). From 1921 to 1929, and during some subsequent summers, Alex Haley lived here with his grandparents, Will and Cynthia Palmer.The front porch was often the place where young Alex heard the oral accounts of family history, including stories of Kunta Kinte, the young Mandingo man captured near his West African home. |

Ripley Dowtown Square There is so much "growing" on in Downtown Ripley. The square is abuzz with revitalization. In 2006, some caring and concerned Ripley, TN citizens formed what is today called The Ripley Downtown Development Corporation (RDDC). This 11-member, non-profit organization works to make Ripley, TN economically prosperous and improve the quality of life for current and future residents and business owners.Ripley is one of six cities selected in Tennessee to receive Courthouse Square Revitalization project funding from the State. RDDC has worked with the state and has received other grants and means of funding, allowing plans and designs to revitalize the city. Construction started in September, 2008. |
